1978 : Graduated from Menntaskólinn vi Hamrahlí, modern languages.
1981-82 : Drama at the University in Gothenburg.
1982-83 : Philosophy at Die Freie Universität Berlin, Berlin (West).
1983-89 : Film studies at the Deutsche Film- und Fernseh Akademie Berlin.

"Ingaló" was screened in the section "Semaine de la critique" in Cannes 1992 and got the prices as the best film with the best actress on the Nordic film festival in Rouen in 1993.
